Pellet Making Machine-Die Type and Metal

As described earlier in the section there are different types of dies for pellet making machine, for instance pellet machine with carbon steel dies have corrosion issues and the hole finish because of this is not as smooth as other dies. If the raw material is left in a carbon steel die to cool, the moisture released during cooling will form corrosion around the inside of the die hole and lock the material in the die, then drilling is required. However high chrome dies for example have a much smoother hole finish and do not have corrosion issues. Therefore the material does not form such a tight bond, making pellets start up a lot easier.

 

However it is generally advisable no matter what the die metal or finish to always leave a loose oily mix in the pellet making machine at the end of production.
