Why is oilseeds-cleaning an important part of the pretreatment section

Oilseed pretreatment is an essential part of oil production, the cleaning process is the basic and most important section, and it has a significant influence on the quality of the oil production and the byproduct.

There are organic/inorganic impurities and oil-contained impurities, organic impurities are: stems and leaves, hull and humilis; inorganic impurities include: dust, sand, stones and metal; perishable oilseeds, incomplete oilseeds and oilseeds of other species. Most of the impurities don’t contain oil and is able to absorb some oil during the flaking section, some impurities like hull ,the stems and leaves makes the oil-color darker, more sediment and odor. Hard impurities like iron, stones are very harmful to the high-speed rotation machines, they will cause wear and tear damage of the parts and shorten the service life of the equipments. Humilis and hemp rope will cause malfunctions.

In accordance to the differences of oilseeds and impurities on size, weight ,shape, form, hardness, magnetic and other physical properties, sieve, magnetic and wind separation are the most common cleaning methods. Besides, oilseed-cleaning makes the workshop environment dustless and increases the efficiency of the oil mill equipments.
